Before we get started, let me introduce myself.
My name is Ashlyn.
Six years ago, an encouraging friend and supportive parents helped me make the jump into photography. Quickly, I fell in love with capturing the beauty of who we are as people and the world we live in.
My hope and goal is to gift you with beautiful, timeless imagery that freezes special moments in time for you to cherish forever.
I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s get started.
Psalm 27:13
My Story
It all started in a kitchen. I value authenticity to the level I do because I was anything but real for the first part of my life. I valued being perfect over known, which manifested in my friendships, self-worth, and, eventually, my career. In my junior year of college, I took graduation photos of friends. It quickly became an unexpected hobby, and I was at a crossroads. At my parents' kitchen table, I was posed a scary question: "Why don't you start a photography business?".
I stared dumbfounded, then began to rattle off my list of "why nots":
-
I didn't go to school for photography, let alone anything artistic.
-
I already had my post-grad plan.
-
How would I even start my own business?
-
What if I fail?
But then came the real reason..."What if it's not perfect?".
Those excuses eventually met their end, and in 2019, I launched Ashlyn Hope Photo.
What has taken me years to realize was that no one ever said it had to be perfect. The journey that led me to fall in love with photography started with me beginning to see past perfection. And once I did, I began to see what I call micro-moments.
Micro-Moments: Instantaneous and easily missed exposure to raw, untouched emotion.
I fell in love with the feeling of having the opportunity to photograph people's micro-moments. Micro-moments of immense joy, gratitude, belonging, love, and accomplishment. Those moments with clients birthed a new dream: discover and unveil the micro-moments.
So that's what I do. I travel the world documenting my client's micro-moments. Whether in your home, on the face of a mountain, in the grasslands, or overseas — I capture your true self as it shines through.
